Parental Rights Under Attack, Being Stripped Away in Canada

Campaign Life Coalition, a group that advocates for legal and cultural change in Canada, has introduced a petition asking people to help protect parental rights and stop allowing schools to hide “gender transitioning” from parents. Unbeknownst to many parents, school boards in Ontario have quietly embraced directives stating that the school should withhold information from a parent when one of their students ask to be transitioned to another gender while at school. For some schools, these directives not only apply to older students, it includes even the youngest of children, including kindergartners.

Kids these days are “already subjected to gender identity theory in schools at too young an age, which can actually cause them to believe they might be transgender by producing sexual confusion that didn’t exist before,” says Jack Fonseca, senior political strategist for Campaign Life Coalition. Fonseca goes on to say, “These policies will leave young kids without the protection of their parents against gender theory ideologues.”

So far, at least five public school boards in Ontario have policies in place that keep information from parents regarding their child’s desire to transition to the opposite gender. The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) have had these guidelines in place since 2013.

On page six of their 29-page document titled, “TDSB Guidelines for the Accommodation of Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Students and Staff” it states, “some transgender and gender non-conforming students are not open about their identity at home for safety or other reasons. A school should never disclose a student’s gender non-conformity or transgender status to the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s)/caregiver(s) without the student’s explicit prior consent. This is true regardless of the age of the student.”

All this is being done under the guise of human rights, safety, and honoring a child’s choice. Fonseca believes differently, however. He says that the school board’s decision to not tell parents is being motivated by indoctrination of the next generation.

Fonseca says, “Don’t believe these Marxist educrats give a damn about child safety. They don’t. Their real goal is to eradicate the Judeo-Christian worldview from society, and children are merely collateral damage in their war. Like Goebbels and Stalin, they understand the key to indoctrinating the next generation in the state’s ideology is to get them young, using state-run schools.”

Children taking sex education classes in the Ontario school system have been learning there are six kinds of gender identities including: male, female, two-spirited, transgender, transsexual, and intersex; along with four kinds of sexual orientation including: heterosexual, gay, lesbian, and bisexual. The sex ed classes also teach sixth graders that “not every couple is heterosexual, and that neutral terms are more accepting.” For example, children are taught it’s better to use terms like “partner” instead of “husband” or “wife.”

Not only are the rights of parents being stripped away by the schools, however, they are also being stripped away by the entire government. Under Bill 89, also called the Supporting Children, Youth and Families Act of 2017, the government can come into a home and remove a child if the parents do not agree with the child’s gender identity. The Ontario legislature approved the law by a vote of 62 to 23.

Bill 89 requires judges, adoption agencies, foster parents, and child protection services to respect a child’s “race, ancestry, place of origin, color, ethnic origin, citizenship, family diversity, disability, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.”

The bill was introduced by Michael Coteau, Minister of Child and Family Services. “I would consider that a form of abuse, when a child identifies one way and a caregiver is saying no, you need to do this differently. If it’s abuse, and if it’s within the definition, a child can be removed from that environment and placed into protection where the abuse stops,” says Coteau.

Campaign Life Coalition has been asking citizens of Canada to send a letter to their local Member of the Provincial Parliament (MPP) to demand that the Ontario legislature repeal Bill 89. “With the passage of Bill 89, we’ve entered an era of totalitarian power by the state, such as never witnessed before in Canada’s history. Make no mistake, Bill 89 is a grave threat to Christians and all people of faith who have children, or who hope to grow their family through adoption,” says Fonseca.

In the United States, Franklin Graham reacted to Bill 89 stating, “I hope Bible-believing churches and Christians across Canada will stand against this wicked law that has been pushed by progressives and the LGBT community.”
