Jerry Falwell Jr. Heart Repaired By HUD Sec. Ben Carson

If you ever wondered what people mean when they say, “God works in mysterious ways,” consider the recent life-saving events.

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell recently underwent heart surgery that literally saved his life. But if it were not for an unpredictable set of circumstances, he would never have known he had a life-threatening condition.

About two years ago, Falwell reportedly suffered a pair of minor strokes and began complaining about ongoing migraine headaches. He mentioned the issue and some tingling in his fingers to renowned surgeon and current U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson. Not taking the seemingly minor symptoms lightly, Carson proceeded to connect Falwell with Dr. Anthony Noble.

Dr. Noble is the inventor of the Noble Stitch procedure that sews shut openings in the heart. As it turns out, Falwell was suffering from a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) birth defect. The opening in his heart was closed after the one-hour procedure.

But the amazing coincidence between Falwell and Carson dates back to a decision to add a medical wing at Liberty University.

“This is so incredible. If we had not started a medical school and had Ben Carson as our graduation speaker, I wouldn’t have known I had a PFO and I never would have gotten it fixed,” Falwell reportedly said. “I told him about the two little strokes I had in 2016 and I was tingling on my right side for a couple of days and it went away. We took it seriously.”

Falwell sees the series of events leading to the life-saving medical procedure as a type of miracle. As it also turns out, both Carson and Falwell are closely aligned with Pres. Donald J. Trump. The president called them personally following the successful surgery.

Country Music Star Brad Paisley and Wife Open Free Grocery Store

Celebrities make headlines for all kinds of things these days, but the Paisleys are in the spotlight for partnering with a Christian university to do God’s work.

Calling it simply “The Store,” Brad and Kimberly have joined forces with Tennessee’s Belmont University to create a food outlet that hopes to provide nonperishable items to approximately 3,000 people annually. The Store works in conjunction with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

The Paisleys got the idea after taking stock in the fact that they have been economically blessed and their children are growing up without a grassroots understanding about financial hardship.

The parents brought their children to get a first-hand account of what some families go through without solid resources. Visiting the non-profit Unity Shoppe that provides free groceries and clothing to community members, both parents and children learned an inspirational lesson.

“We came away surprised by what the organization had taught us,” Brad Paisley reportedly said. “Most people don’t want handouts. They want dignity and respect. Most people just want to become self-sufficient.”

The family took steps to give back to the community by building a similar organization.

“This is a grocery store with dignity for people who have fallen on hard times. All of us are one unforeseen disaster away from rock bottom. It’s nice to think about a place where when that happens to someone, they can use it to get back on their feet,” Paisley reportedly said of The Store.

The Store plans to offer no-cost food to people in the Nashville as well as job training, health care and legal aid among other support.

“At Belmont, we believe the greatest privilege anyone can ever have is to be in a position to help and serve another person. Brad and Kim are living out that mission in an extraordinary fashion in every aspect of their lives, particularly through the creation of The Store,” Belmont University President Dr. Bob Fisher reportedly said. “We are proud to partner with them on this initiative, and I’m excited to watch as our current students pour their gifts and abilities into supporting the needs of The Store’s patrons.”

Chick-fil-A Worker Hands Over His Shoes

One Chick-fil-a employee is proving that you don’t have to be wealthy or a celebrity to make the Gospel real.

Levi Jones, a worker at the fast-food chain in Columbus, Georgia, decided to not ask a homeless man to vacate the premises or call law enforcement. Instead of treating the man like a nuisance, Jones fed the indigent soul and then handed him his own shoes. As it turns out, Walter and Levi have the same shoe size.

“He had his eyes closed, looked very tired,” Jones reportedly said. “I went over to him. God led me over there to speak to him. I asked him how he was doing, if I can get him any food. I noticed he didn’t have on any shoes on his feet. The Lord told me to give my shoes to him and that’s exactly what I did.”
