Media Blackout: Kamala Harris’ Father Denounces Her 2020 Campaign

It’s still early in the process, but it appears that the mainstream media has chosen its preferred candidate to take on Donald Trump in the 2020 primary. Reporters from several news outlets, including CNN and NBC, took Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) shopping for campaign clothes and gleefully shared the photos and videos on Twitter.

Remember how outraged the media was when Sarah Palin shopped for a campaign wardrobe in 2008? Yeah, that same standard doesn’t apply when the candidate is a Democrat.

Given the media’s fawning over Harris as the inevitable 2020 replacement for Donald Trump, it’s interesting to note that Kamala Harris’ own father has now denounced her campaign.

One of the favorite arguments from atheists that you’ll hear periodically is, “The Bible says you should stone disobedient children to death! Your ‘god’ is a monster, you superstitious dumb Christians!” This silly argument stems from a lack of basic reading comprehension on the part of most atheists. The text they are referring to comes from the law in Deuteronomy 21. Verses 18 through 21 read:

“If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not heed them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of the city, to the gate of his city. And they shall say to the elders of the city, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones; so you shall put away the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.”

This is clearly not talking about stoning disobedient toddlers to death, as atheists insist. The drunkenness and gluttony indicate that it is referring to adults or juvenile delinquents, and the law is clearly intended to dissuade the creation of a lazy, career criminal class. And although stoning was certainly used to punish horrible crimes such as homosexuality, rape and cheating on a spouse, there is no indication from Scripture that anyone was ever executed by this parental decree.

The intent of the law, then, was to stress the importance upon mothers and fathers to safeguard the good name and reputation of the family. The duty of the Christian parent is to do anything in their power to steer their children away from a life of lawlessness, welfare collection and being an overall public nuisance. If your son faced a possible death sentence for being a public nuisance, wouldn’t you do everything in your power as a parent to turn him around?

Parents in America used to treat their family names and reputations with this level of seriousness. If Jimmy wouldn’t clean up his act, the parents would force him to enlist in the Army so that a drill sergeant could teach him some discipline.

Appearing on a radio show this month, 2020 contender Kamala Harris was asked if she ever smoked marijuana. “Half my family is Jamaican,” she replied. “Are you kidding?” She then went on to regale the host with stories of how she smoked pot and did indeed inhale while she was in college. Needless to say, her Jamaican father was unimpressed.

Donald Harris is a professor of economics at Stanford University. He earned his degree from Berkeley after immigrating to the US in the 1960s, so he hardly comes across as some right-winger in a MAGA hat. Speaking to Jamaica Global Online, Mr. Harris said of his daughter’s pride in smoking dope:

“My dear departed grandmothers, as well as my deceased parents, must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud, Jamaican identity being connected… with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy-seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics. Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty.”

Now that is a biblical rebuke from a parent, ladies and gentlemen! Her own family wants nothing to do with her political campaign or her shameless pandering for votes from hip, dope-smoking millennials. Not that you’ll ever hear this story reported by the mainstream media. They’re too busy helping Kamala Harris pick out her outfits.
