President Donald Trump reached new heights of rhetorical victory over his opponents last week when he triggered Democrats and the mainstream media into praising and defending the violent Salvadoran gang MS-13. Spouting more gibberish than usual, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) even went so far as to claim that MS-13 are “children of God” and that, just like everyone else on the planet, MS-13’s brutal killers have a “spark of divinity” in them.
That’s so sweet! It sounds just like the ending to a Disney movie! It also shows that Ms. Pelosi, who claims to be a Christian, is utterly devoid of any knowledge of what the Bible says about human beings.
President Trump referred to members of Mara Salvatrucha (“slippery trout”) as “animals” when talking about the Department of Justice’s increased efforts to arrest and deport them. MS-13 has the distinction of being so crazily brutal that the Cosa Nostra won’t even do business with them.
They are responsible for bringing the Central American tradition of hacking their victims to pieces with machetes to America, along with kidnapping, child prostitution, drug running, money laundering and arms trafficking. Obama’s “dreamers,” in other words. These are the people who Nancy Pelosi referred to as “children of God.”
The problem with Nancy Pelosi’s biblical illiteracy is that people hear her soundbite and think, “Oh, great, yeah, that sounds like something the Bible would say.” It says nothing of the sort.
The children of God are described in Scripture and by Jesus Himself as believers in Jesus Christ – Christians, in other words. The final message from Jesus to believers in Revelation 22 addresses this separation between believers and non-believers. The believers, the children of God, are in the New Jerusalem where they enjoy full rights and citizenship in the Kingdom of God. Those who are outside the walls of the New Jerusalem (the walls represent God’s law and His saving grace) are described in verse 15:
“Outside are the dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth a lie.”
Pro tip: Whenever Jesus refers to dogs in Scripture, he’s not talking about your Cocker Spaniel. He’s talking about non-believers. We would also note that Jesus protects the children of God with a wall.
Contrary to Pelosi’s sing-song fake theology, the Bible refers to many people as children of the devil. The Old Testament usage refers to them as “sons of Belial,” such as the homosexuals in Sodom who attempted to beat down an old man’s door, so they could rape the two angels sheltering there. God’s policy toward Sodom was a bit more extreme than President Trump’s efforts to simply remove MS-13 from our shores.
Eli’s wicked sons are described as “sons of Belial” in 1 Samuel 2:12. Jezebel, a biblical prototype of Hillary Clinton, relied on “sons of Belial” to carry out her conspiracy frame Naboth for a crime he did not commit, which led to the state-sanctioned murder of Naboth and the confiscation of his vineyards (1 Kings 21).
If all people are the “children of God” as Nancy Pelosi asserts, then Jesus must have been a lunatic because He clearly disagreed with that sentiment. In John 8:44, He states, “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.”
The 13 in MS-13, which the gang used to tattoo all over its members’ faces and bodies, symbolizes magical powers which the members believe they have. Tattooing was actually a form of baptism for the group, signifying membership in the murderous “family.”
While the number 13 is considered “unlucky” in popular culture, the number has deep biblical symbology as representative of Satan and lawlessness – a fact which MS-13 members are no doubt aware of. Examples include Judas being the 13th disciple present at the Last Supper, Jesus referring to 13 things that defile a man (Mark 7:20-23), there are 13 famines in the Old Testament, and so on.
The killers and child rapists of MS-13 clearly know that they are not the “children of God.” Their entire mythology as an organization is structured around war with Christianity. They know this. Why doesn’t Nancy Pelosi know it?
As for President Trump’s comment that MS-13 are animals, we have one slight quibble with that statement (fair is fair, right?). Biblically, animals’ spirits go down into the dust, according to Solomon. Although some predators are capable of great cruelty due to the fall in the Garden of Eden, animals are incapable of sin. Therefore, MS-13 are much worse than animals: They are humans.
